Hanging gardens of Bali is the world’s first 7- star boutique hotel nestled way up in the heart of the jungle: around 30 minutes from UBUD. This hotel will make you feel like you’re living on a cloud. Detailed traditional Balinese décor, unparalleled service from the moment you arrive and home to the world’s best infinity pool, this is an experience you shouldn’t miss. The average nightly cost is around $500 USD but can fluctuate depending on the season and days of the week. Some sites have better rates then others but booking through the hotel directly will give you the best price without high fees and excess taxes.
Upon arrival at the Hanging Gardens, we had an idea of the property but pictures cannot do a hotel like this justice. The views of the jungle and the green tones surrounding you as far as you can see give you a sense of tranquility; this is your own private oasis.
The hotel sits upon a hill and therefore uses cable cars to transport guests to and from different areas of the hotel such as the lobby, spa, villas, restaurant, etc. The main dining area is located in the Garden, the main restaurant, above the Garden bar which sits upon a deck overlooking the pool, offering panoramic views as you enjoy the sensational breakfast included in your stay. The breakfast options were endless, including healthy, vegetarian, vegan options. Lunch and Dinner can also be eaten here but is not included in your stay. Since this is a very personable hotel, these are the only restaurant/lounges on the property but more than enough for the limited number of guests at any given time.
There isn’t a limit to the comfort you’ll feel here and the staff will let that be known throughout your meal and your stay. Just about anything you’re craving is available to you. You can even have your breakfast delivered to your door and placed on a traditional Balinese boat in your private pool, one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had, not to mention the most incredible view.
The hotel is made up of a plethora of villas; each with their own private plunge infinity pool overlooking the beautiful greenery, a gazebo, several lounge areas on the deck, a mini fridge outdoors and sun deck. Inside you can find lush robes to lounge in during your stay, a large flat screen television, portable Bluetooth speaker, desk, a spacious bathroom with modern details, Jacuzzi tub, and rain shower. The beds are equipped with a net to help with any small flying unexpected guests. The property is of course in the middle of a lot of wildlife, so monkeys may invite themselves to your deck and/ or plenty of bugs, bring plenty of repellent but just in case you forgot, there will be one waiting for you in the villa. There isn’t anything the hanging Gardens did not think of already to accommodate their guests perfectly.
The world’s best pool can be found here and although it is truly incredible to see in pictures, you will never lose the feeling you have when you’re standing at the edge with your arms out staring into the endless jungle, this is a pool that cannot be compared to others. The double layered pool allows the illusion of floating water with a top deck and water cascading over to the bottom deck, the design is of the most unique I have ever seen. Poolside you can order cocktails, as light eclectic music plays in the background and you realize that you’re not leaving that spot for several hours. Not to worry, there is food nearby and you everything you need is available to you.
Nearby the property, you can find a small village where you can experience more of the Balinese culture. The hotel also neighbors several waterfalls and temples with no more than a half hour drive to either of these activities. Transportation is offered through the hotel as well as a shuttle that can take you to the Ubud center. I guarantee you’ll spend at least one of your days indulging in the tranquility of the hotel and that is absolutely fine.
Location, food, pool, and amenities are all at the top of the list when it comes to a hotel stay. The most important however, is the customer service. The Hanging Gardens of Bali team goes above and beyond for each of their guests. With a limited number of villas, the attention to detail the staff has with each of the guests makes your stay here much more rewarding.
